FOUR FOCUS GROUPS SCHEDULED
The Kingston City Planning Board has scheduled four focus groups to give
the public a chance to meet and question the various consultants that
have been working on issues related to the ongoing SEQRA review of the
proposed Hudson Landings development. Even though substantial changes
have been made to the original proposal, there remain a number of areas
of concern. These focus groupsto be held at Kingston City Hallwill
offer an excellent opportunity to address some of the major issues
surrounding the project.

Wednesday, June 6, 6pm - SESSION ONE: TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Tom Johnson of
Creighton Manning Engineering will discuss and answer questions about
how Hudson Landings will increase vehicle traffic in the City of
Kingston and local roads.

Thursday, June 7, 6pm - SESSION TWO: FINANCIAL CONCERNS: Peter
Fairweather of Fairweather Consulting will discuss and answer questions
about projected costs for providing municipal services to Hudson
Landings as compared with potential new tax revenues.

Tuesday, June 19, 6pm - SESSION THREE: WASTEWATER TREATMENT: Robert
Ostapczuk of Malcolm Pirnie will evaluate and address concerns about the
existing sewage treatment plant and its ability to handle wastewater
from Hudson Landings as well as other developments proposed for Kingston
and Esopus.

Wednesday, June 27, 6pm - SESSION FOUR: VISUAL IMPACTS: George Janes of
the Environmental Simulation Center and Dan Simone of AVR will discuss
and answer questions about the visual appearance of the project both
from the water and from the historic district on the other side of
the river. They will also describe the standards and guidelines
that will govern the the design of the project.

up-to-date information about Hudson Landings long-term impact
on Kingstons quality of life and economic well-being.

Final Public Comments were due Tuesday, January 17, 2006
The City of Kingston Planning board held a series of four public
hearings on the Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement for the AVR
development, The Landing, proposed for the remaining 1.5 miles of
Kingstons Hudson River waterfront at the former Cement Plant. There are
no further public hearings, and the period of public comment has closed,
but you may still let City officials know your feelings on the subject
by writing a letter to the editor and ccing Mayor Sottile or your
Alderman.
